sittlichkeit, n.All

Sittlichkeit (n.) enjoins ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌us to bring about what already is: by keeping our community's customs we keep the community in being, so ought and is coincide.

Sittlichkeit (n.) is ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌the truest cult, Hegel says: if heart and will are formed through and through up to the universal, that is ethical life; and in the same sense philosophy is a perpetual cult.

Sittlichkeit (n.) is ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌in part Hegel's rendering of the Greek polis as his generation saw it: citizens finding the meaning of their lives in the city's public life, their glory in its power and their immortality in its memory.
