is so crazy these days that the only two people in the entire stadium who look normal are the team mascots.

Everybody gets dressed in crazy costumes to go to football games nowadays. I've been to games where the only two creatures in the entire stadium who looked normal were the team mascots.

is so cracy these days that the vendors might as well go up and down the aisles hollering, "Peanuts, popcorn, bandages.

Everybody knows how rowdy the fans get. The vendors go up and down the aisles hollering, "Peanuts, popcorn, bandages.

is comradery. At a ballgame, as in a place of worship, no one is alone in the crowd.

is so serious a thing that one almost gets the impression that if football were banned, the fans would still show up every weekend anyway.

The fans have a good time. I get the feeling that if football were banned, the fans would still show up every weekend anyway.

is odd. To say "We won" when your team wins in a sport is a lot like saying "We got laid" when watching porn.

is guided by the delightful fact that spectators are allowed, and even expected, to join in the vocal part of the game, to try to put the batsman off his stroke at the critical moment by neatly timed disparagements of his wife's fidelity and his mother's respectability.

What is both surprising and delightful is that the spectators are allowed, and even expected, to join in the vocal part of the game...There is no reason why the field should not try to put the batsman off his stroke at the critical moment by neatly timed disparagements of his wife's fidelity and his mother's respectability.
