Culture is a perversion. It fetishizes objects, creates consumer mania, it preaches endless forms of false happiness, endless forms of false understanding in the form of squirrelly religions and silly cults. It invites people to diminish themselves and dehumanize themselves by behaving like machines.
Identity is neccessary for man. Not to know one's true identity is to be a mad, disensouled thing — a golem. And, indeed, this image, sick-eningly Orwellian, applies to the mass of human beings now living in the high-tech industrial democracies.
Imagination is actually the universal library of what's real. You couldn’t imagine it if it weren’t real somewhere, sometime.
Magic's real secret is that the world is made of words, and that if you know the words that the world is made of you can make of it whatever you wish.
The Magic mushroom is not evil. The only evil that associates itself with them is taking too little.
