Bodhidharma
BodhidharmaAttachment is the failure to see that everything comes from the mind. Once one sees one's own nature, the entire Canon becomes so much prose.
Delusion is a state in which there is a world to escape. When we're aware, there's nothing to escape.
Emptiness is taught to crush the concrete ideas of the students. Even clinging to an idea of emptiness is a betrayal of all Buddhas.
Female circumcision persists precisely because the rite is embedded in culturally salient idioms of purity, embodiment, sexuality, fertility, and 'enclosedness'.
Mind is of limitless capacity and its manifestations are inexhaustible (visions, sounds, smells , flavors).
Mind is not the mind of the materialists: it has no form or characteristics, no cause or effect, no tendons or bones. It's like space. one cannot hold it.
Mind is that beyond which it is impossible to find anything. Everything good and bad comes from one's own mind.
Mind is that without which there is no Buddha, and without the Buddha there's no mind.
Mind is of no use in Buddhism. If one uses one's mind to look for a Buddha, one won't see the Buddha.
