The City is a place where inhabitants behave like captives. The pattern of frustration, desperation, suicides now observed with captive animals is observed in city life.

Conservation is essentially turning our historical relationship with nature on its head. For most of history man has had to fight nature to survive, but in this century he is beginning to realize that, in order to survive, he must protect it.

The Scientist is nothing but the curious man looking through a keyhole, the keyhole of nature, trying to know what's going on.

The Sea is the universal sewer.
