Relativism is a problematic and contradictory principle containing within itself a belief in the absolutist claim that 'all truth is relative'.
Relativism is a strange mixture of modern and ancient beliefs in that it implies a belief in an absolute truth which was true for all times and places and condemned other truth claims because they could not achieve this level of objectivity.
Thought style is a socially constructed ordering of argument. Thought styles organize perceptions of reality in different ways. They are traceable back to a specific social group and its quest to influence the public interpretation of reality.
Utopia is quite different from different groups. For orgiastic chiliasm (lower strata), liberal-humanitarian (intellectuals), conservative (status quo), and socialist-communist (proletarian).
