Being is, for parmenides, something which does not exist. Light is not the opposite of darkness. In the essence of light, darkness is destroyed and overcome.

Being is ontologically stable. What is cannot not-be, so being excludes negation, determinacy and becoming.

Being is uncreated and imperishable, whole, unique, unwavering, and complete.

Time is an illusion and only the now is real (in contrast to heraclitus, for whom time is change and only change is real).

Time is contradictory and not real.

Time , as we experience it, simply does not make logical sense. As such, it must be either an illusion or a window into the divine.
