I have been reading with a great deal of interest lately, an article, or pamphlet by Prof. Simon Patten of the University of Pennsylvania, on the Re-construction of Economic Theory... and he uses some strange epigrammatic expressions as the result of his going to psychology for assistance to economics. He defines a Democrat as a man who has an emotional reaction against privilege. So defined, I am a Democrat. He defines a Socialist as a man who has an emotional reaction against the exploitation of the weak.
