The Energic viewpoint (n.) is ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌the real value of the libido concept, not its sexual definition: Jung proposed dropping the predicate "sexual" from libido, or the critics' charge of mysticism would stand.

The Energic viewpoint (n.) treats ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌all psychic phenomena as manifestations of energy, as physics did after Robert Mayer's conservation law; Jung proposed it to free psychoanalysis from a purely sexual standpoint.
