inner light, n.All

The Inner light (n.) is ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌sought through the air, the heavens and the abysses, and found at last within the heart, shining like a spherical sun.

Inner light (n.) calms ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌the world: once there is light in a man there is no more night outside, and once he falls quiet the storm in the universe subsides.

The Inner light (n.) is ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌the living light within light: when Hildegard saw it, all weariness and want fell away and she felt like a young girl instead of an old woman.

The Inner light (n.) cannot ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌be put into a person from outside but must be struck out from within, as fire from a flint, a medieval text argued; outer objects stimulate the senses but give no knowledge.
