Military tactics is about remaining flexible — when I have won a victory I do not repeat my tactics but respond to circumstances in an infinite variety of ways.

Military tactics is like water; for water in its natural course runs away from high places and hastens downwards, it shapes its course according to the nature of the ground over which it flows, it retains no constant shape. In warfare, as with water, there are no constant conditions.
