Overcoding (n.) obeys an old law: the more the empire overcoded its flows, the more it stirred up decoded flows that turned against it — just as today the more flows the axiomatic absorbs, the more escape to the periphery.
Overcoding (n.) is the essence of the State: the dread of flows of desire that would escape coding, and a new inscription that makes desire the property of the sovereign.
Overcoding (n.) breeds its own escapes: no great public works without runaway labor, no monetary tax without runaway money, no public property without private property growing at its edge.
Overcoding (n.) is not a stronger code but a procedure of a different kind — just as reterritorialization is not an added territory.
