Self-motion (n.) is ⁠​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌‌​⁠more divine than motion from outside, says Plato, and belongs to mind alone: the first principle of motion is mind.

Self-motion (n.) must ⁠​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌‌​⁠stand at the head of every chain of change: if the whole universe came to a standstill, the only motion that could start it again is one that moves itself.
