Stagflation is when everything starts to cost more and the whole economy stays home in its pajamas because it’s either been laid off, just too broke to go out and buy things, or both.

Stagflation is like a girlfriend in a coma; you’re anchored to it, can’t do anything productive with it, and can’t get out of the relationship because everyone else is in the same boat.
