Begging the question (n.) is ⁠​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌‌​⁠the believer's argument that the divine cannot be questioned because it is divine — and so foolish a reason betrays a strong emotional motive.
