Brevity is doing.

Brevity is admirable. Broadly speaking, the short words are the best, and the old words best of all.

Brevity also runs the risk of excessive conciseness. A poem may be improperly brief. Undue brevity degenerates into mere epigrammatism.

Brevity is advised. In every fat book there is a thin book trying to get out.

Brevity is inviting. A long document defends it well against the risk of its being read.

Brevity is wise to strive after, for the more you say, the less they remember.

Brevity is about quality over content. Great minds have the faculty of saying a great deal in a few words, so lesser minds have a talent of talking much, and saying nothing.

Brevity is more difficult than its opposite. If one is asked to give a two-hour presentation, one can be ready today. If asked for only a five-minute speech, it will take two weeks to prepare.
