The Depth of field is the idea that it is not me that grasps my surroundings, rather, it is they that grasp me, solicit me at every moment, and make of the landscape something other than a landscape.

The Depth of field is that which, in a representation is in no way mastered by me. It is it that grasps me, solicits me, makes of the landscape something other than a landscape, something other than what I have called the picture.
