Drug use is a terror, chiefly the terror of giving up control.

Drug use is perhaps best stopped by having crack, heroin and meth be manufactured by the pharmaceutical companies. That way, nobody would be able to afford them.

Drug use is not a good idea as a mass phenomenon. However, we must have a deputized minority, a shamanic professional class if you will, whose job is to bring ideas out of the deep black water and show them off to the rest of us and perform for our culture some of the cultural functions that shaman perform in pre-literate cultures.

Drug use is mitigated only by cultures which are clearly afraid of a full and fair and open dialogue about what reality is and what real human values ought to be.

Drug use is a right, for one has a right to think and explore one's own mind, which is as intimate a part of their being as their sexuality.
