He often presents the 'feeling of power', and not simply power, as the aim of the will to power: we want not only effective agency, but also the experience of effective agency (e.g., A 2). Presumably, a desire the agent satisfaction of desires. Presumably, a desire the agent wants to satisfy will not stop exercising its motivational pressure until he knows that it is satisfied. For this reason, when we talk of the satisfaction of a desire, we often mean at once the objective fact of possession of the object of desire and the subjective consciousness of this fact. The desire for power understood as effective agency 'will therefore count as satisfied only if the agent has an experience of effective agency.
