The Ego-complex (n.) is ⁠​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌‌​⁠the highest psychic authority in a normal person, the mass of ideas about oneself carried by the constant feeling-tone of one's own body; it is the firmest complex and weathers all psychological storms.

The Ego-complex (n.) is ⁠​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌‌​⁠not the only complex in the psyche; the psyche is a constellation with other luminaries, and unconscious complexes may have a kind of consciousness of their own, as secondary personalities show.
