The Master race (n.) was ⁠​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌‌​⁠bought, the future Nazi elite learned in Africa, by receding to the level of a race organization: the Boers stayed undisputed masters precisely because they had sunk to the level of savage tribes.

The Master race (n.) was ⁠​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌‌​⁠not the Germans but a race still to be born — the SS; the movement cared more to prove a race could be fabricated by annihilating others than to win a limited war.
