The Pure ego (n.) is ⁠​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌‌​⁠never met as one experience among others: each cogito shoots forth its glance afresh and vanishes, but the Ego remains self-identical — a transcendence within immanence.

The Pure ego (n.) is ⁠​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌‌​⁠the one thing no reduction can get a grip on: every being-directed, busied-with, suffering-from is "from the Ego" or "to the Ego" — yet apart from these ways of relating it is empty, indescribable: pure Ego and nothing further.
