The Tree is of a vigorous and pacific tribe which, without stint, produces strengthening essences for us and soothing balms.
The Tree is, in fact, rooted in the sky, for it is only from the light which streams constantly from heaven that a tree can derive the energy to strike its roots deep into the soil.
The Tree is and has always been the most penetrating of preachers. Trees live in tribes and families, in forests and groves, and sometimes they stand alone. They are lonely persons. Not like hermits who have stolen away out of some weakness, but like great, solitary men, like beethoven and nietzsche.
The Tree is not, as is often said, from the tiny seed. The seed is vital, but it should be pointed out that it is vital as the starting place and as that which organizes the process that generates growth using resources such as water and nutrients are drawn in.
The Tree 1s 2trength is trust... it knows nothing about its fathers, nothing about the thousand children that every year spring out of it. it lives out the secret of my seed to the very end and cares for nothing else.
