Filial piety is a matter within a limited face-to-face family. It means taking one's proper station according to generation, sex, and age within a group which includes hardly more than one's father and father's father, their brothers and their descendants.

Filial piety is important — He who wisheth to enter Paradise at the best door must please his father and mother.

Filial piety is that which begins a father's respect — He that will have his son have a respect for him must have a great reverence for his son.
