Punctuation is best kept as conventional as possible. Just as the game of golf would lose a good deal if croquet mallets and billiard cues were allowed on the putting green, so too should you be able to show that you can do it a good deal better than anyone else with the regular tools before you have a license to bring in your own improvements.

Punctuation is able to really change the meaning of a sentence. "Let's eat grandma" is entirely different from "let's eat punctuation".

Punctuation is crucial — Even where the sense is perfectly clear, a sentence may be deprived of half its force - its spirit - its point - by improper punctuation. For the want of merely a comma, it often occurs that an axiom appears a paradox, or that a sarcasm is converted into a sermonoid.
a punctuation mark exists to signify irony or sarcasm consisting of a backwards question mark.

Punctuation is a permanent predicament for the writer. The conflict of how to use it correctly must be endured each time by the writer. One needs either a lot of strength or a lot of stupidity not to lose heart.
