turnout, n.All

Turnout (n.) looks ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌amazing when voting is compulsory and no one mentions the law, the ID card that must be stamped, or the army's warnings.

Turnout (n.) becomes ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌the climax of a sponsored election — a democratic army and a people voting for peace overcoming rebel threats — and means nothing at all when an enemy state's voters turn out.
