Ethics (n.) is about the good life. One cannot riddle one's way into it, and if the term 'ethics' conjures a hectoring moralism, a focus on misdeeds, a list of italicized demerits, then something has indeed been lost.
Ethics (n.) is concerned with everyday existence-with the life that you sought to live, with wellness, not illness.
Ethics (n.) is concerned with questions regarding human flourishing, about what it means for a life to be well lived -morality is about how we treat other people.
Ethics (n.) is not about conundrums or about finding solutions to conundrums. Kindness, friendship, and simply being nice are not about problems needing to be resolved, but are questions of existence-questions about what kind of people we are and wish to be.
Ethics (n.) is not just what we should do for others (morality) but concerns making a life for ourselves (which naturally involves morality).
