The Ghetto is a social atrocity. It is a place where people are forced to live. The ghettos should not be rebuilt. They must be destroyed. Today, ghetto living is imposed upon the negro, contributing to the cry for 'black power' and what is called the politics of frustration.
The Ghetto is wrongly discussed as a black cultural space rather than as a structural formation. It's not the product of street culture and the alternative economies of gangs and guns and drugs and sex trade become described as a black thing rather than a form of deprivation of circumstances.
A Ghetto is an isolated enclave populated by kindred types who would be made to feel unwelcome outside its boundaries; e.g., blacks in 1920s Harlem, Jews in 1930s Warsaw, women in secretarial pools, or a class of honor students at an urban high school.
