Donnoi (n.) was ⁠​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌‌​⁠the troubadour's bond with a lady, and forbade full possession: "He knows nothing of donnoi who wants fully to possess his lady."
