Spirit is alone able to endure contradictions and thereby grow while contradiction in other unqualified 'finite' entities results in destruction or mere replication (e.g. A new seed resulting in the same plant).

Spirit is energy congealed to the point at which we can live with it on a physical level.
Spirit is not subjective, but objective, referring to rational purposive forms at a level above individual consciousness including community, culture, custom, law, religion, art, and philosophy.
Spirit is 'mind' or that which raises its existence into thought and thereby into an absolute antithesis, and returns out of this antithesis, in and through the antithesis itself.
Spirit is a bodily world, not a metaphysical one. It's most easily seen in the arts, which embody the spiritual vision of a people.
